The story begins in the Prologue.
In both the PS4® and Nintendo Switch™ versions of the game, use the cursor to select commands such as "Inspect" and "Talk" to advance the story.
Choose icons such as "Inspect" and "Talk" that appear on the screen to advance the story.

TIP #2: The map and your items remain with you!
The items and Jewels you obtain will stay in your inventory no matter how many times you head back to the beginning, allowing you to effectively build the map.
The story appears as a branching map. This system allows you to see your current location as well as the story routes and divergent paths you've discovered.
It functions with the Reflector Device and the Jewels you put into it.

Current Location
Shows the player's current location.

Jewel Save
Shows the location where a Jewel Save was used.

Shining Point
Shows the location of a not yet obtained Jewel.

Ending
Displays when you arrive at an ending.
You cannot go any further in that route.

TIP #3: Jewel Save & Jewel Load
Opening the map and using a Jewel allows you to create a Jewel Save. You can travel to that point at any time once it's made.
When you return to that marked location, you get that Jewel back. If you want to keep that location memorized, use the Jewel there again after you return.
As you play, you will undoubtedly run into divergent paths that you cannot advance until you acquire the right items.
That's the best time to use a Jewel Save! That way, you can go to a different location, find an item or two, and warp back later to continue the path!
