Theme Song "can cry"
CRYSTAR's theme song was performed by yanaginagi.
The forlorn yet powerful lyrics written for this title combine with her unforgettably beautiful singing brings the world of CRYSTAR to life.

I'm Naoki Hisaya, and I was charge of the plot and scenario for CRYSTAR.
During the making of this title, I had a lot of trouble trying to meet Producer Hayashi's difficult demands. In turn, I also troubled him by trying to tie in too many ideas. It truly has been an enjoyable process from beginning to end. Even as I was writing the plot I came up with new ideas, one after another, likely because the title was just filled with that much atmosphere and charm.
I wish I could talk a bit more about the story and characters like Rei, Kokoro, Sen, and Nanana, but anything I say could end up being a spoiler, so I hope you play the game and see for yourself.
I would be thrilled if you enjoyed the one of a kind atmosphere in CRYSTAR as much as I did.

I remember reviewing the documents for the logo design request and experiencing a moment of realization. It's hard to put into words, but it touched upon something like the fundamental ideal I hold for producing content.
The creators are the ones who actually work on the title, and their job is different from that of a designer's, but I was always thinking about how to express the delicate, yet gripping and emotional atmosphere when designing the logo.
I can't wait to actually play it.

CRYSTAR was a rare project for us for it was created by the power of our young talent and veterans combined.
The development term wasn't very long, but I believe the creators and our staff have succeeded in putting our wits together to create a crystal made of tears.
I hope the players venture along with the girls—and their tears—and play the game through to its end.

Yukinori Masuda
I worked on the concept for the world of Purgatory and the camerawork for Rei relaxing in her room. Please enjoy the beautiful yet unnerving world of Purgatory, Rei's struggle and anguish as she's driven to tears by the Torments of indiscernible Revenants, and her laid back life in her room.
My favorite characters are Rei, Thelema, and Anamnesis.
Lead Artist (Animation)
Miki Kurose
Please support Rei, an indoor-type (?) video game lover who desperately takes on Ordeals to save her precious sister. Don't forget to snuggle with Thelema!
(I've poured my uncontainable love for Rei on this project.)
Lead Artist (Effects)
Takuya Ishii
Although there was some level of direction when it came to the effects, I was able to work freely for the most part. Despite the sheer volume of my work, I was still able to experiment with expressions I've wanted to portray, so it was a fun experience for me.
Lead Artist (Environments)
Kayoko Watanabe
After working hard executing Ordeals, you can listen to music, read books, or pet Thelema in Rei's room... I recommend peering into Rei's life and savoring a relaxing time!
Lead Artist (Characters)
Shunsuke Kodera
There were many firsts for me on this project and, though there were hardships, every day was fresh and exciting. Working on this title has been extremely memorable for me.
Of course, the title itself is exciting and it has been an honor working alongside the wonderful creators as we made CRYSTAR.
This game has turned out to be a powerful title that's sure to be an unforgettable experience. Thank you.
Artist
Kumiko Yoshioka
I'm Yoshioka, and I was in charge of enemy designs. Something unforgettable happened during development... While I was imagining an enemy type that's wrapped in bandages (scrapped), I accidentally broke a bone and ended up being wrapped in bandages myself! Yay!
CRYSTAR is a story about girls crying and fighting, but please soothe your Soul while playing by petting the cute doggy as well!
Artist
Taichi Tsuritani
I'm Tsuritani, and I worked on the digital motion in game.
I would be very happy if everyone pays attention not only to the main characters, but to the monsters roaming around Purgatory as well.
You just may discover things that make you think, "So this is what their past was like"!
Artist
Mami Banno
I’m Banno, and I was a modeler for this title.
While modeling the treasure chests, I thought up little backstories for each one about how they ended up there. For their sakes, please collect them all!
Artist
Michika Honda
I'm Honda, and I worked on the backgrounds.
I would love it if players enjoyed the unique atmosphere of Purgatory while striving with Rei to achieve Revival for Mirai.
I absolutely love Thelema, so please, soothe your heart by petting that good dog. Thank you!

I was in charge of character models and UI.
For characters, I worked on the Guardians and Thelema, and for UI, I worked on little animations here and there. I was very particular about expressing the cuteness and fluffiness of Rei's beloved dog, Thelema, so please take good care of her!
Artist
Keigo Nakanishi
Hello, I'm Nakanishi, and I was in charge of character production.
There are characters and enemies that come in various forms with complex personalities in CRYSTAR, so I had a lot of fun making them.
With such a wide range of characters, I expect the game's content will be rich and intricate as well. Please play and find out! And please use Nanana!
Artist
Koki Yamada
I'm Yamada from the background team.
The world of Purgatory seems like a dark and dreary place, but can be very vivid at times as well!
I hope you enjoy the shifts in Rei's emotional state as well as the changes in the stages themselves!
Lead Programmer
Hideo Yoshikawa
I worked on the system and battle programming.
There were many twists and turns during development, but I'm honored that we've succeeded in delivering a polished product.
Please enjoy the stories of Rei and her companions all the way to the very end.

Keita Higami
Unlike Purgatory, Rei's room is a place where you can spend your time in peace and leisure.
You can pet Thelema, read up on stories about the dead, and enjoy some of the wonderful BGM tracks...
I highly recommend resting and relaxing with Rei between battles.
Programmer
Kazunori Inoue
Rei and Nanana were the most popular among the staff during testing, but which character is your favorite? Personally, I like Kokoro, so it would be great if people gave her a try!

Let's pet Thelema!
Let's pet Thelema!
This is very important, so I wrote it twice.
Game Designer
Isao Takeda
This title was made to make heroines cry.
I hope you're moved by the girls fighting on as they're accosted by fate and play it through to the end to see where their tears take them.
Game Designer
Takeru Imai
In CRYSTAR, we poured a lot of work into the battle system!
It's user friendly for those who don't play games much and made to be beatable as long as you keep leveling.
Not only that, but there are difficulty settings which you can adjust to suit your play style.
Please, pick up CRYSTAR and give it a try!
Now, I must go collect the Idea that was produced during development... See you next time!
Lead Cutscene Editor
Naoya Hayashi
Hi, I'm a shrimp!
I mainly worked on event cutscenes! The character are all so cute, aren't they?
I focused on making Rei, Heraclitus, and others look cool within their 3D environment!
I hope everyone has a "fun and exciting" time playing the game!

Tensei Yamashita
Thelema is adorable, isn't she?
She wags her fluffy tail and whines when she gets lonely, and is a comforting presence after the harsh Ordeals.
Like the girls, Thelema plays an important role in CRYSTAR. I hope you enjoy playing the game while petting your real-life Thelema at home.
